# Why do some results give 10-year risk, while others give risk by age 80?

The results tell you how likely you are to develop each condition in a certain time frame. This time frame is either:

- in the next 10 years
- by the age of 80

The time frame we give varies depending on the condition and your current age. We base these time frames on recommendations from clinical guidelines.
